Dunton Youth Wins Trip
by Sue Dunton (Ulster, PA)
My son, Joshua Dunton (age 14), won a trip to meet Michael
Jordan. The contest was sponsored by Ray-O-Vac Renewal Batteries. What he had to do to
enter was write in 40 words or less what he thinks should be the next Ray-O-Vac Renewal
Battery commercial featuring Michael Jordan. He entered last spring, we found out he was a grand prize winner in the fall, and in February of this year, he and I took our all expense paid trip to Chicago to meet Michael Jordan. We had lunch at Michael's restaurant, met Mike at the United |
Center, had a few photos taken, got a few autographs, then
watched the Bulls beat the Pistons 99-90. It was quite an exciting trip! Josh has been a big fan of the Bulls for years. He especially likes Michael Jordan, not just for his athletic ability, but also because off the court he is a very nice person. I like the fact that he's a very positive, moral, and family oriented type of person, and a good role model for kids. If they actually use Josh's idea for a commercial, we'll let you know. |

"Life On The Farm"
Being a brief monthly accounting of the events from life on the Victor
Hugo Dunton farmstead in Oregon
Spring is here. Not just on the calendar. The plumbs, pears, and cherries are in bloom. The hay is starting to really grow, and the chickens are laying again. | All of the animals seem happier, too. Not just us
humans. After a wet, cold, and dark winter, the season of rebirth and renewal is
upon us. Happy Easter from the farm. Mike Dunton - 4/9/98 |
