F. Fuller DuntonFrank Fuller Dunton, 92, of Boothbay Harbor, died on May 28, 2001 at St. Andrews Hospital. Born on April 10, 1909 in Boothbay Harbor, he was the son of Ellra Dunton and Bertha Langdon. He attended local schools and graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School in the Class of 1927. Mr. Dunton was employed by Northeast Power Company of Sheldon Fall, Mass. for one year before embarking on a career at sea. He sailed out of Marblehead for 15 years. He sailed from Southport and Kittery, Maine; Manchester, Massachusetts; Greenwich, Rhode Island; and San Francisco, California. He served as sailor and captain of many yachts and vessels including the Ivanhoe. His last vessel had a homeport of West Boothbay Harbor. After 40 years at sea, he retired in 1985. He was a member of the Masonic Seaside Lodge #144 A.F. & A.M. His wife Natalie Stretton predeceased him. Survivors include two nephews, Edward Thompson of West Bath and Perry L. Thompson of Marshfield, Mass.; three nieces, Marjorie Alley of Boothbay Harbor, Nancy Lewis of Boothbay, and Lucille Roberts; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews and a special friend, Phyllis Laughton. Visiting hours were held on Wednesday, May 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. at Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home. A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, May 31 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow immediately afterward at the Oceanview Cemetery in Boothbay. Arrangements are by Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home in Boothbay.
