Since this is the first issue of 2001, I thought that it would be a good idea to close out 2000 by listing family announcements that were not in past issues of The Dunton Times.  If you have additions, please email them to me and I will get them included.

"Life On The Farm"
Being a brief, regular accounting of the events from life on the Victor Hugo Dunton farmstead in Oregon

Last month I optimistically wrote that the rainy season would bring about more spare time to dedicate to family history and working on the "Dunton Homesite". That has not been the case.

With the holidays, running kids around to various activities, and the responsibilities associated with growing a business and running a farm, the days and nights were as full as ever.  Life here on the farm seems to be anything but laid back.

As this is written, our temperatures are still regularly dropping below freezing.  Yet the garden season is just around the corner.  A lot of gardeners in warmer climates are already beginning to plant their "spring" gardens.  We are starting to plant longer season varieties indoors in pots.

I have been writing this column for quite a few years now.  Several regular readers have asked if I had more pictures of the farm to share.  I am happy to say that I have posted a virtual tour of part of the farm on the "Dunton Farms" section of VictorySeeds.com.  You can view the tour by clicking here.

Please send items for the archive, the site and the newsletter as you can.

Take care, slow down, live life, and may the Lord bless and protect you and your family.

Mike Dunton - 2/8/01
